Leadership Cards - 2001 Part Deux

I was very laid back with swaps this time around. Only did one organized swap with 40 cards. I've picked out the best of them to show you in the next couple of days.

I did not notate which cards were made by whom. So, if you see one of your cards on my blog, please let me know so I can give credit where it's due!

I really like this one - I like both the color combo and the design.

The "gray" is actually silver card stock.

The white piece pulls out and becomes a note card!

See - isn't that clever?

This card was made using the Valentine Defined set, and the Love Impressions DSP, along with some ribbon snips (perfect way to use up those "tails" you always have from making square knots or bows!) and both the round scallop punch and the scalloped edge punch.

Simple, but effective!

This one was made using the new cupcake punch from the Occasions mini, along with the large circle punch and Elegant Lines embossing folder.

The designer also used the Glimmer Paper ( The BOMB!) with our very dinky heart punch, and some 5/8" white organza ribbon.

The cupcake has been popped up.

Well, that's all I have to share with you tonight.

I was finally able to get the lawns mowed today, and I guess that Zumba class I've been taking is using muscles I'd forgotten I have, cause I'm hurtin' tonight - time to go rest this weary body!

Thanks for stopping by - come back tomorrow - you just never know when I'll change my mind about what I SAID I was going to post!

Occasions Mini

Isn't this beautiful? It's a quilt square all the Leadership attendees received. These were made by the employees of Stampin' Up!'s manufacturing facility in Kanab, UT.

The employees, although quilt making is NOT in their job description, brought their own sewing machines from home to make 1,000 of these for Leadership attendees.

What a wonderful surprise for all of us, and what a thoughtful thing for those employees to do! Stampin' Up! really is an awesome company to work for!

They used the Big Shot, fabric, and the 5-Point 3-D Star die for this square.

They were made for us because Jill Olsen, my upline, received the Bright Idea award from Stampin' Up! for using our Big Shot to promote another type of craft.

Here she is, on stage at Leadership, receiving that award from Shelli Gardner.

She's been doing this type of quilting since last summer.

You may remember this post. Jill had called me to tell me she would be demonstrating the Big Shot at the local Quilt show. I went to touch base with her and see how she was going to promote this idea.

Mr Big (as he's lovingly called by some) can cut up to 8 layers of fabric each time dies are run through the machine.

Makes for speedy cutting out of the pieces, doesn't it?

Jill's made so many quilts now and used the same ideas to make other things as well.

She's inspired a lot of people, including Shelli, to play with Mr. Big and come up with other ideas - such as these:

These are flowers Shelli demonstrated at the Phoenix Regional, which took place the day after Leadership ended.

Velvet hasn't shown up on this blog for quite a while, so here she is, beautiful girl, sitting out on the patio one night this week.

And with that, I'll sign off for tonight. Have a wonderful weekend!

New Year...

Yeh, I know we're already 13 days into that new year, but I've been a busy little bee for the past week, attending the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference in Phoenix.

It was a blast! Got to see old friends, see new products, learn new ideas and techniques and hear some new business ideas to try out.

Look!
Stamping with some of my buddies at the Regional event on Saturday:

That's Patti and Sharon, and Sharon and Veronica - busily putting together the projects we were given for the day.

And here is one of the ideas I picked up at that event:

These are made with the scalloped edge punch, a stamped and cut out leaf image, some Sticky Strip, and a piece of bling.

Aren't they gorgeous?

And these were our gifts at the Manager's Reception. We went to a rodeo!

Our gift as we boarded the buses was the rebozo, or shawl - I chose Summer Sun for my color (imagine that!), but others had the choice of turquoise, purple, or magenta. Very colorful!

Then, after some hors d'ouvers, we were handed a morroca as we walked into the rodeo arena. We used this to cheer for the riders.

After the rodeo, we were directed to a large dining venue, decorated in a Mexican scene.

When we got to our tables for dinner, there was a stamp set wrapped in a tea towel. Again, very colorful!

Melie helped me pack before I left...

And Mudge helped me air out the suitcase when I got back...

And the camellias burst into bloom while I was gone.

More tomorrow! Gotta hit the sack - practically falling asleep while writing this.

Check out the Occasions mini-catalog! I'm sure there's SOMETHING in there you NEED!
